Today’s News-Climate Change / U.S. vs. China

From guest blogger Nora Weaver!

Greetings Petioners! Guess what? Breaking news…

“Emerging from Secretary of State John Kerry’s trip to Beijing last weekend, but mostly unreported, the world’s two biggest energy consumers and greenhouse gas emitters and both non-ratifiers of the Kyoto protocol decided to add climate change to their Strategic and Economic Dialogue. Wow. Really? The two biggest contributors to the climate crisis now talking about dealing with this mess. It’s about time!

And yet, we still have not one more Senator signed on to co-sponsor the currant climate change bills recently introduced to the U.S. Senate! S.332 The Climate Protection Act of 2013 and S.329 The Sustainable Energy Act both need a number of Senators to co-sponsor them in order for them to get out of committee and to the Senate floor.

We need more folks to sign this petition demanding that the U.S. Congress take action this year. Can you please forward this email to friends and family? With your help, we can reach our goal! Share this link.

Thank you for taking a stand on this important issue.
